North Korea harsh cold dry winters and in the summers they have a climate of short, humid hot summers. The temperatures range between –8 C in December and 27 C in August. About 60 percent of the annual rainfall happens between June and September. August is the wettest month with an average rainfall of 317 millimeters.
jAPANESE oCCUPATION 1910-1945
The Japanese occupation began in the year of 1910. Japan took control of Korea (still one whole country) ruling under their customs. Koreans had to speak Japanese, the non-confucious education system, and Japanese investment, But the Korean Nationalism soon emerged through all the cruel treatment and humiliation. Nationalist and Communist groups was founded in the 1920s for the future diverging of Korea. The KCP (Korean Communist Party) was founded in Seoul in 1925. When Japan invaded Korea's neighboring country, Manchuria in 1931, Chinese and Koreans teamed up tp fight Japan. Japan was defeated in 1945.
Dividing of Korea and The Korean War
Even though Korea's desires of unity and freedom: at the end of World War II the Pacific seeked the thought of the division of the 38th Parallel. (The 38th Parallel is the border That separates North Korea from South Korea.) The Soviets soon occupied the northern half of Korea in August 1945 and the U.S took control of the southern half in September. Separate state institutions came on both sides North and South: on February 1946 an Interim People's Commitee by Kim I1 Sung turned the first central goverment. The land was changed and the KCP teamed up with other political forces to make new and strong KWP (Korean Worker's Party) in August 1946. During the next two years kim and his allies joined and became the primary the primary figures of North Korea.On September 9, 1948, which was three weeks after the Republic of Korea was made Kim L1 Sung made the establishment of North Korea making its capitol Pyongyang. Kim was preparing going into war with South Korea having the goal of unifying , and to turn South Korea into a whole Communist country. The war broke out on June 25, 1950. With the North Korea's team of communist Soviets and China the South had the U.S. After a two-year statement, an armistice was signed on July 27, 1953. The demilitarized zone (DMZ) was made at the 38th parallel. Korea is till divided to this day on Of North and South Korea.
Culture
Religion- Today in North Korea is no longer just and ideology but the religion that worships Kim II Sung as a god. And Kim Jong iI as the son of god. We have to venerate the pictures and status of Kim II Sung. Language- The official language is Korean. Currency- (estimated) $1.00=900(KPW) won $5.00=659 won $10.00=9000 won Food- Their dishes is usually spicy. main dish: -rice -kimchi (spicy pickeled cabbage) -bulgogi (marinated beef) -galbi (marinated ribs) -naengmyun (cold noodles) But there has been many food shortages in North Korea many people are starving.
